Gürkan Yeniçeri is a permaculture designer and colleague of mine here in Canberra. Amongst other things, Gurkan has specialised in aquaponics. Here is his story of how he set up his system.

The goal for aquaponics in a permaculture design would be to have a closed loop system. Aquaponics is a growing technique that combines elements of both hydroponics and aquaponics. It harnesses a symbiotic relationship that exists between fish and vegetables, where the fish provide nutrients required for healthy plant growth and the plants filter the water for the fish.
